Claire Forlani BiographyClaire Forlani is an English Actress, born in Middlesex, England on July 1st, 1972, daughter of a British mother and an Italian father. Her father made his living managing a music producer, and Claire attended the Arts Educational School in London from the age of 11, where she developed her dream of becoming a performer. After six years of drama and dance training, at the Arts Educational School, and performing in Orpheus in the Underworld or in The Nutcracker. She then pursuit a showbiz career on the British television in a recurring role on the Press Gang and Shrinks series in the early '90s, and appeared as Katrina in the Gypsy Eyes (CIA Track down), filmed for 11 weeks in Slovenia. In order to help and support their daughter's career, her family moved with Claire to San Francisco in 1993. The green-eyed beauty soon penetrated the US market, with her first role in an American production, as Ann Cannon in the television mini-series, JFK: Reckless Youth in the same year. She also stared in the 7th Police Academy Movie in 1994: Mission to Moscow. After a role in the 30-minute Showtime feature The Gift, she was finally given a chance to shine in a supporting role in Mallrats. Director Kevin Smith cast Claire in the role of American suburbanite Brandi Svenning, and was surprised to find out she was actually British when he found out after offering her the role. In 1996, she played Jade, Sean Connery's daughter in the blockbuster hit, The Rock, sharing the screen with stars like Connery and Nicolas Cage. That same year, she also made an appearance in Basquait and starred in the independent film Garage Sale. In 1997 she starred in the critically-acclaimed role in The Last Time I Committed Suicide that would compensate for the previous disappointing movies. She also had the smarts to quit her role in Deep Rising, which could have killed her career. In 1998 she starred in Meet Joe Black, a grim movie which made everyone wonder who the breathtaking beauty that won Brad Pitt's heart on the big screen was. Claire was hailed by Vanity Fair as one of 1998's up and comers. During the same year, she appeared in Basil with Christian Slater and the romantic comedy Into My Heart. In 1999, she starred in the summer action film Mystery Men. She finished her work in the indie comedy film Magicians, with Alan Arkin and co-starred with Freddie Prinze Jr. in Boys and Girls. She also co-starred Ryan Phillippe and Rachael Leigh Cooke in the thriller Anti-Trust and the comedy Going Greek and with Jackie Chan in The Medallion. In the fall of 2006 she joined the cast of CSI:New York as a medical examiner. In February 2007, Claire played Tori Bodden in the Carolina Moon, the version of Nora Roberts' bestselling book. She dated actors Benicio Del Toro, John Cusak, Ben Stiller and is engadget to Dougray Scott. |
